Kimi AI Review: What It’s Actually Good At
Kimi AI is Moonshot AI's assistant, and the thing that sets it apart from the ChatGPT/Gemini crowd isn't a single flashy feature — it's the combination of long-context handling, real web search, and document work in one place, aimed more at "get this task done" than "have a conversation." A frame from my video for this article (tap to watch) I actually ran Kimi's Deep Research feature myself on a topic I already knew well, specifically to check whether the citations pointed to real, relevant sources rather than just looking well-formatted. What it actually does well Deep Research: give it a question and it pulls from multiple sources, organizes what it finds, and returns a structured, cited report instead of a single summarized answer. This is the feature worth trying it for if you do any research-heavy writing. It's also worth trying the same research question on whichever assistant you already use before switching, specifically to see how it handles source citation. A lot of general-purpose assistants will summarize confidently without clearly separating what came from which source, which matters less for casual questions and matters a great deal if you're using the output in anything that needs to be fact-checked or attributed afterward.
